page 3NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionTrusng in the Lord during an elecon season, when polical and social tensions run high, can be dicult. Our natural insnct is to rely on what we know or understand, but scripture reminds us to place our trust in God, not in our own reasoning or comprehension. Proverbs 3:5-6 calls us to submit everything—our thoughts, decisions, and acons—to God and trust Him with the outcome. This elecon is a reminder that human systems and leaders, while important, are not the nal answer to the problems we face. Governments may change, policies may shi, but God’s reign is eternal. He has a plan for His people that stretches beyond any elecon. When we anchor our hope in Him, we can face uncertain mes with peace, knowing that He directs our paths. As believers, we must avoid pung undue hope or fear into an elecon result. Regardless of who wins or loses, God is sll sovereign. It is crical to trust that God is working His purposes, whether through our current understanding or through the things we cannot yet see. This trust allows us to move through the elecon season not with anxiety, but with calm assurance in the Lord’s guidance. As we begin this month of prayer, let us reect on how we can beer trust God, not just in the context of this elecon, but in every area of life. Where do we need to let go of our own control? Where do we need to submit more fully to His wisdom? By surrendering our fears, uncertaines, and concerns to God, we open ourselves up to His perfect will.Day 1Day 1Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

page 4NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsPrayerPrayerLord, today we come before You, humbling ourselves as we approach this elecon season. We recognize that You alone are in control and that Your will reigns supreme over every leader, every government, and every naon. Help us, Lord, to fully trust You, even when the outcome is unclear to us. Let us not lean on our own understanding, but seek Your wisdom in every decision we make.Father, we ask that You guide our hearts as we prepare to vote, and that You bless this elecon with integrity and transparency. May Your will be done in this naon, and may we align our hearts with what You desire for our communies and our country. We pray for peace throughout the elecon process and for unity among people, regardless of polical dierences. We surrender our anxiees and fears to You, trusng that You are good and that You are working for the good of those who love You. Fill us with Your peace, Lord, and help us to be a light in the midst of tension and division. In Your mighty and sovereign name, we pray. Amen.MISSION IN MOTIONMISSION IN MOTIONToday, reect on areas of your life where you nd it dicult to trust God fully. Take a few minutes to write down any fears or anxiees you have related to the elecon or other areas of your life. Oer these to God in prayer, asking Him to replace your fear with faith and your anxiety with His peace. Commit to trusng Him with the outcome, no maer what it may be.

page 5NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionAs Chrisans, we are called to be faithful stewards of the gis and resources God has given us. This stewardship extends beyond the walls of the church and into every part of our lives, including how we engage with the world around us—especially during signicant events like elecons. 1 Peter 4:10 encourages us to use our gis to serve others, which includes thinking crically about how our choices, including our vote, can impact those who are most vulnerable and in need.A mission-minded church does not focus solely on its own growth or well-being but seeks to be a force of good in the community. This means that as we approach the elecon, we need to be mindful of the needs of those around us, parcularly those who oen have no voice or are marginalized. Our vote is a reecon not only of our personal preferences but also of our commitment to jusce, mercy, and compassion. The gospel calls us to care for the poor, the oppressed, and the forgoen, and this should inuence how we engage in civic responsibilies like vong. Do the candidates or policies we support reect these values? Are we seeking leaders who will advocate for the vulnerable, defend jusce, and act with integrity? Vong is more than a polical act; it is an opportunity to bring God’s light into a world that oen seems dark and divided. In this me of preparaon, let us reect on how our choices, even in the vong booth, can be an extension of our mission as Chrisans. We are called to love our neighbor, seek jusce, and walk humbly with our God. Let us vote not out of fear or self-interest but out of a heart that seeks the well-being of all, especially those who are most in need.Day 2Day 2I Peter 4:10 (NIV) “Each of you should use whatever gi you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Page 6

page 6NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsPrayerPrayerFather, we come before You today, acknowledging that You are Lord over every part of our lives, including the way we engage with our community and our naon. As we prepare to vote, help us to see beyond our own needs and desires and to consider the needs of others, parcularly those who are vulnerable, oppressed, or in need of jusce.Give us hearts that are compassionate and minds that are wise, so that our acons align with Your will for jusce, mercy, and love. Help us to see how we can use our vote to serve others, rather than just protect our own interests. Lord, let our decisions reect Your grace and Your truth, and may we always be faithful stewards of the gis and inuence You have given us.We pray for the candidates and leaders of this naon, asking that You guide them toward policies and decisions that upli the most vulnerable, protect the oppressed, and promote jusce. Lord, we trust that You will guide our hearts and minds as we make decisions that align with Your will. Help us to vote with integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility toward our fellow human beings. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.MISSION IN MOTIONMISSION IN MOTIONToday, take me to research the candidates and policies in your local elecons. As you do so, pray for God to give you discernment and wisdom. Consider how your vote can reect God’s values of jusce, mercy, and love, parcularly for those in need. Write down your thoughts and connue to pray for wisdom as you prepare to make your voice heard.

page 7NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionIn the midst of an elecon season, we are oen bombarded with informaon, opinions, and media that can cloud our judgment and lead to confusion. With so many voices vying for our aenon, it is essenal to seek God’s wisdom, which cuts through the noise and provides clarity. James 1:5 oers us an incredible promise: when we ask God for wisdom, He will give it to us generously. This wisdom is not only for making personal decisions but also for understanding how to navigate the complex issues facing our society. As Chrisans, we are called to be discerning, especially in mes of uncertainty. God’s wisdom allows us to see beyond the surface of polical rhetoric and campaign promises, guiding us to make decisions that align with His heart for jusce, mercy, and righteousness. It’s easy to get caught up in the emoons and biases that elecons can sr, but God invites us to rise above that, seeking His eternal perspecve.This elecon, we are faced with crical decisions that could impact the future of our naon, communies, and even the church. When we lack understanding, we are not le to our own devices—God is ready and willing to provide the wisdom we need. However, this wisdom comes when we humble ourselves and acknowledge our need for divine guidance. It requires us to pause, quiet the noise, and intenonally seek God’s voice in the midst of the chaos. As we connue to pray through this elecon season, let us remember that our rst source of wisdom is not the media, polical pundits, or even our personal experiences—it is God Himself. Let us ask for His wisdom, knowing that He will provide it generously and without hesitaon.Day 3Day 3James 1:5 (NIV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without nding fault, and it will be given to you.”

Page 8

page 8NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsPrayerPrayerLord, today we come to You, humbly asking for Your wisdom. We recognize that in our human understanding, we are oen limited and can be easily swayed by the opinions and emoons surrounding us. But You, God, are the source of all wisdom, and we ask that You would guide us in this elecon season. Help us to see clearly and discern what is right, just, and true.Grant us the ability to si through the noise and distracons, focusing on what maers most to You. Help us make decisions that reect Your kingdom values—decisions that promote jusce, mercy, and righteousness. Give us insight into the candidates and policies that will best serve our communies and our naon, especially those who are oen overlooked or marginalized.Father, we trust in Your promise that when we ask for wisdom, You give it generously. So today, we ask for an outpouring of Your wisdom, not only for ourselves but for all who are involved in this elecon—candidates, voters, and leaders. May Your wisdom lead this naon toward a future where Your truth and love are evident in every aspect of our society. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.MISSION IN MOTIONMISSION IN MOTIONSpend me today reading and meditang on the promises of God’s wisdom in scripture. Set aside any distracons and ask God to guide your thoughts and decisions as you prepare to vote. Reect on any areas where you feel uncertain or confused, and seek His clarity and direcon.

Page 9

page 9NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionAs the elecon draws closer, it’s natural for many to feel a rising sense of anxiety or uncertainty. The results may shape policies, economies, and social issues that directly aect our lives and communies. However, as believers, we are called to live by faith and not by sight. Philippians 4:6-7 gives us a beauful promise: we can bring our concerns to God in prayer, and in return, He will give us peace that surpasses all understanding. The world may be consumed with worry and stress over what will happen aer the elecon, but we are invited to take a dierent path. Through prayer and thanksgiving, we can present all our fears and anxiees to God, knowing that He is in control of every outcome. This kind of trust doesn’t mean we are indierent to the results; rather, it means that we have condence that no maer what happens, God is sovereign, and His plan is for our good. This peace that God gives us isn’t rooted in our circumstances. It is a peace that comes from knowing who God is—faithful, all-powerful, and loving. When we remind ourselves of God’s character, we can rest in the assurance that He is at work, even when we cannot see the full picture.Today, let us remember that we are not called to carry the weight of the world’s problems on our shoulders. God invites us to lay down our anxiees and take up His peace. As we pray for the elecon and the future of our naon, let us do so from a place of trust, not fear. God’s peace will guard our hearts and minds, allowing us to walk condently in faith, regardless of the outcome.Day 4Day 4Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situaon, by prayer and peon, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Page 10

page 10NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsPrayerPrayerFather, we come to You today with hearts that may feel anxious or heavy with the weight of the world around us. We acknowledge that there is much we cannot control, but we trust in Your sovereignty. You are the God who holds all things together, and we bring every worry, concern, and fear before You in prayer. We ask for Your peace to ll our hearts and minds as the elecon approaches. Calm our anxiees and remind us that You are in control of every situaon. Help us to trust that Your plans are higher and beer than anything we could imagine, and give us the strength to submit our will to Yours.Lord, we pray for our naon and for the future leaders who will be elected. We ask for Your peace to prevail, not just in our own hearts, but across this land. Let Your presence be felt in every home, every polling staon, and every community. Bring unity where there is division, hope where there is despair, and light where there is darkness.Thank You, Lord, for Your promise of peace. We rest in the knowledge that Your peace will guard our hearts and minds, allowing us to live without fear. We trust in Your perfect plan, and we submit all of our requests to You, knowing that You hear us and are working for our good. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.MISSION IN MOTIONMISSION IN MOTIONReach out to someone you know who may be feeling anx-ious or uncertain about the elecon or the future. Oer them words of encouragement, pray for peace over their heart, and remind them of God’s promise to give peace to those who seek Him.

page 11NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionElecon Day is here, and it’s easy to feel the weight of the decisions being made today. Many of us have prayed, researched, and reected on our vote. But as Chrisans, our duty doesn’t end at the ballot box. Today’s scripture reminds us that true healing and restoraon for our land will only come when God’s people humble themselves, seek His face, and turn from their sins. The elecon may bring change, but it’s God’s intervenon that brings true transformaon. Today, we are not just casng a vote but parcipang in God’s greater plan for healing our naon. It’s easy to get caught up in polical divides, but scripture calls us to step back, humble ourselves, and seek God’s guidance above all. Our hope is not in polical pares or candidates—it’s in God alone. As we reect on today, let’s not forget that healing starts with us. We must pray, repent, and align our hearts with God’s. When we do, He promises to hear us and heal our land. Regardless of the outcome of this elecon, let’s connue to be a people who seek God rst, trusng that He is working out His plan.Day 5Day 5II Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without nding fault, and it will be given to you.”

We ask for Your forgiveness where we have fallen short, both as individuals and as a naon. Help us turn from our ways and align our hearts with Your will. We ask that You would heal our land, not just physically, but spiritually.Father, we pray for the integrity of this elecon process. Protect the hearts of voters and candidates alike. We also li up those who feel anxious or discouraged today, asking that You would ll them with peace. We know that You are the ulmate ruler, and we place our trust in You. page 13NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionNow that Elecon Day has passed, many may be feeling a mix of emoons—relief, anxiety, or uncertainty about the future. But today’s scripture reminds us that our true blessing as a naon comes when we recognize God as Lord. It is not about who sits in polical oce, but about where our hearts lie as a people. As Chrisans, we are called to be a light in our communies and to live in a way that reects God’s kingdom values, no maer who leads our government. We must connue to seek His will and His guidance, praying for our leaders, whether new or returning, and trusng that God is at work. The results of the elecon may bring joy to some and disappointment to others, but our focus should remain on Christ. He is our ulmate hope and the One who truly blesses the naon. Today, let us connue to pray for the future of our country, trusng that God is guiding us according to His perfect plan.Day 6Day 6Psalm 33:12 (NIV) “Blessed is the naon whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.”

page 15NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionPaul and Silas found themselves in a dire situaon, imprisoned for doing God’s work. Yet, instead of despairing, they prayed and praised God in the midst of their trials. Their faith and worship led to a miraculous breakthrough—not just for them, but for everyone around them. This powerful story reminds us that God is always at work, even in dicult circumstances. As the elecon results connue to unfold, some of us may feel disappointed or even discouraged by the outcome. But just as Paul and Silas trusted God and worshiped Him despite their circumstances, we too are called to praise God in all situaons. Our faith can lead to breakthroughs, not only in our personal lives but in the life of our naon and church. When we choose to pray and praise in dicult mes, God moves in ways we might not expect. He has the power to break chains, open doors, and bring freedom where there is oppression. Let us connue to li our voices in prayer and worship, trusng that God is moving, even when we don’t yet see the full picture.Day 7Day 7Acts 16:25-26 (NIV) “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundaons of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors ew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”

Page 16

page 16NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsPrayerPrayerLord, we thank You for the example of Paul and Silas, who showed us how to praise You even in the darkest of circumstances. Help us to follow their example, trusng that You are at work in ways we cannot see. As we navigate the results of this elecon, let our prayers and praise rise to You as an act of faith. We pray for breakthroughs in our naon, church, and communies. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is fear, bring courage. Where there is despair, bring hope. Let Your power be evident, and may Your will be done in every aspect of our lives.Thank You, Lord, for the freedom You bring, both spiritually and in the world around us. We praise You for who You are, and we trust that You are working all things for good. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Page 17

page 17NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionAer an elecon, it’s easy to feel like our responsibility ends once we’ve cast our vote. But today’s scripture reminds us that we are called to seek the peace and prosperity of our communies, even aer the elecon is over. Whether or not the leaders we supported are now in oce, our mission remains the same: to pray for the well-being of our cies, towns, and country.Jeremiah’s message to the Israelites in exile was to invest in the place where God had placed them, even though they were far from home. In the same way, we are called to be agents of peace and prosperity in our communies, praying for our leaders and working toward the common good. This is part of what it means to be a mission-minded church—we are not just concerned with our own interests but with the welfare of others. As we move forward aer the elecon, let’s commit to connuing our prayers for our naon’s leaders, asking God to guide their decisions and bring peace and prosperity to the places where we live. Our prayers can make a powerful impact, not only in our own lives but in the lives of those around us.Day 8Day 8Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV) “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

We pray for the leaders who have been elected, that they would seek Your wisdom and work for the good of all people.Lord, we ask that You would bless our communies with unity, jusce, and prosperity. As we begin this new conference year with the theme “A Mission-Minded Church – Empowered through Educaon, Engagement, and Excellence,” we understand that our greatest strengths and successes are rooted in the power of prayer.Much like Paul and Silas, who experienced strength and breakthrough through their prayers and hymns in Acts 16:25-26, we too commit to seeking God’s guidance and presence in every aspect of our journey. Our collecve prayers will unite us, align our hearts, and empower our acons as we focus on mental health, music, and mission. It is through these dedicated prayers that we will move forward in becoming A MISSION-MINDED CHURCH—embracing educaon to support our mental, emoonal, and spiritual well-being, engaging our communies, and pursuing excellence in service as leaders and ministries of our church.During these upcoming days of prayer, let us join together with trust and faith, condent that God will guide and empower us in building a stronger, more connected church family that serves and glories Him across every generaon.2024 | 2025 CHURCH THEME2024 | 2025 CHURCH THEMEezekielezekiel 37:1-10 | 37:1-10 | actsacts 16:25-26 | 16:25-26 | i peteri peter 4:10 4:10

page 20NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionAs a mission-minded church, we oen nd ourselves waing on God for direcon, guidance, and strength. But waing is not passive—it’s an acve process of trusng God and seeking His will in all we do. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who place their hope in the Lord will have their strength renewed, allowing them to connue the mission He has called them to without growing weary.Mission work can be challenging, and there may be mes when we feel red or discouraged. But God promises to give us the strength we need to connue. When we wait on Him, trusng in His ming and provision, He gives us the endurance to press on, even when the road ahead seems long or dicult.Today, let us focus on placing our hope in God, trusng that He will renew our strength as we connue the work of building His kingdom. Whether we are serving in our local church, reaching out to our community, or working toward jusce and peace, we can do so with the condence that God is with us, equipping us for the journey.Day 9Day 9Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. page 22NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionIn ministry, there are always challenges that can cause anxiety or uncertainty. Whether it’s navigang church growth, ministry needs, or personal responsibilies, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the many demands we face. However, today’s scripture oers a powerful reminder that we don’t have to carry these burdens alone. God invites us to bring every concern to Him in prayer, trusng that His peace will guard our hearts and minds. The peace that God gives us is not based on our circumstances—it transcends all understanding. When we bring our requests to God with thanksgiving, He replaces our anxiety with His peace, allowing us to focus on His purpose rather than our worries. This peace enables us to move forward in ministry, even in the midst of challenges, knowing that God is in control. As we engage in the mission of the church, let’s remember to bring our concerns to God in prayer. Whether we are facing a dicult decision, a challenging situaon, or a personal struggle, we can trust that God hears us and is working for our good. His peace will guard our hearts and minds, giving us the clarity and strength we need to connue the work He has called us to.Day 10Day 10Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situaon, by prayer and peon, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. page 24NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionThe Great Commission is at the heart of the church’s mission. Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples of all naons, bapzing and teaching them to observe His teachings. This is the foundaon of our calling as a church and as individual believers—to be a light to the world, sharing the good news of salvaon with others. As we consider our role in fullling the Great Commission, we must remember that this mission is not limited to pastors or missionaries. Each one of us is called to parcipate in the work of making disciples. Whether through personal conversaons, inving others to church, or supporng the mission work of others, we all have a part to play. The promise that accompanies this command is profound: Jesus is with us always, even to the end of the age. We don’t carry out this mission alone. Jesus walks with us, empowers us, and guides us as we share His message of hope and salvaon with the world.Day 11Day 11Mahew 28:19-20 (NIV) “Therefore go and make disciples of all naons, bapzing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

page 26NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionAs a church, it’s important not only to carry out the work of ministry ourselves but to equip others to connue the work. Paul’s instrucon to Timothy highlights the importance of passing on the teachings of the faith to reliable people who can teach others. This principle of discipleship ensures that the mission of the church connues from generaon to generaon.One of the key ways we fulll this calling is by mentoring and encouraging others in their faith. Whether it’s through teaching, leading a small group, or simply oering support and encouragement, we can help others grow in their relaonship with Christ and equip them for ministry. In doing so, we are contribung to the growth and health of the church for years to come.Let’s be intenonal about raising up new leaders, teachers, and disciples who can connue the work of the ministry. page 28NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionAs believers, everything we do should be done for the Lord. Whether we are serving in a ministry, working in our careers, or caring for our families, our work is ulmately an act of worship to God. Paul’s words in Colossians remind us that our true reward comes from the Lord, not from human recognion or approval. This perspecve changes how we approach our tasks. When we work with all our heart, as though we are working for the Lord, we bring excellence and dedicaon to everything we do. This mindset applies not only to “spiritual” work but to every aspect of our lives. In the church, this means serving with a heart of gratude and joy, knowing that our labor is not in vain.Whatever role we play in the church or in life, let’s do it with all our hearts, remembering that we are ulmately serving Christ. Our work has eternal signicance when it is done for His glory.Day 13Day 13Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV) “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. page 52NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionJesus’ words to His disciples remind us that the harvest is plenful, but the workers are few. There are many people in need of hearing the gospel and experiencing God’s love, but there are not enough workers to carry out the mission. This is a call to acon for the church. As we look around at our communies, we see the needs all around us—people who are hurng, lost, or in need of hope. The harvest is ready, but it requires workers who are willing to go out into the elds and share the love of Christ. This means stepping out of our comfort zones, engaging with people who may not yet know Christ, and being willing to serve in whatever way God calls us.Let’s pray for more workers to be sent into the harvest eld, and let’s be willing to be part of the soluon. Each of us has a role to play in reaching the lost and bringing in the harvest for God’s kingdom.Day 25Day 25Mahew 9:37-38 (NIV) “Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plenful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest eld.”

page 54NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionHumility is the key to unity within the church. Paul’s words in Philippians remind us to put the interests of others above our own, valuing them with the same love and care that Christ has shown us. When we approach our relaonships and ministry with humility, we create an environment where unity can thrive.Selsh ambion and pride can quickly lead to division, but when we choose humility, we build bridges of understanding and love. This is especially important in the church, where we are called to work together for the common good. By pung others rst and seeking their well-being, we strengthen the body of Christ and create a culture of love and service.Let’s commit to approaching our relaonships with humility, always seeking to serve others and build up the church in love.Day 26Day 26Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV) “Do nothing out of selsh ambion or vain conceit. When we have the same atude of mind as Christ Jesus, we are able to work together with one mind and one voice, bringing glory to God. This kind of unity requires paence, endurance, and a willingness to put aside our own preferences for the sake of the greater mission.Paul’s prayer for the church in Romans is a beauful reminder that unity is both a gi from God and a responsibility we must acvely pursue. It’s easy to become divided over dierences of opinion or personal preferences, but when we focus on Christ and His mission, we can work together in harmony.Let’s pray for unity in our church, that we may work together with one mind and one voice, glorifying God in all we do.Day 27Day 27Romans 15:5-6 (NIV) “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same atude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

page 58NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionThere is a special blessing that comes when God’s people live together in unity. Psalm 133 reminds us that unity is both good and pleasant, and it creates an environment where God’s blessings ow freely. When we work together in harmony, we reect the heart of God and create a space where His presence can dwell.Unity doesn’t mean that we all have to agree on everything, but it does mean that we are commied to loving one another, working together, and seeking the common good. This kind of unity requires grace, paence, and a willingness to put others rst, but the rewards are worth it. When the church is united, it is a powerful force for God’s kingdom.Let’s commit to pursuing unity in our church, knowing that when we live together in harmony, we experience God’s blessings in abundance.Day 28Day 28Psalm 133:1 (NIV) “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!.”

page 60NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionGod has made it clear what He requires of us: to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. These three acons—jusce, mercy, and humility—are at the heart of what it means to live a life that honors God. They are also at the heart of the church’s mission in the world. As we pursue the mission of the church, we must always keep jusce, mercy, and humility at the forefront of our acons. Jusce means standing up for what is right and advocang for those who are oppressed or marginalized. Mercy means showing compassion and kindness to those in need. page 62NOVEMBER 2024 PRAYER GUIDE WRITTEN BYRev. Sylvia BillsDevotionDevotionJesus’ words in Mahew 25 remind us that when we serve the least among us, we are serving Him. This is the heart of mission work—reaching out to those who are in need, whether physically, emoonally, or spiritually. When we serve others, especially those who are marginalized or overlooked, we are doing it as an act of love toward Christ Himself. As a mission-minded church, we must always be looking for ways to serve those in need, both within our church community and in the world around us. This may mean providing for the physical needs of the poor, oering encouragement to the hurng, or sharing the gospel with those who have never heard it.
